The ring test for dangerous goods packaging has finally started.
It has been many years now; that the idea was put forward to Harry Moustyn.
He lit it, and later a proposal was made as to how this could be accomplished.
Soon after, the idea was taken up with Lars-Göran Nilsson at SP, who also kindled it, but from there the road ahead was long...
It would prove difficult to get the test institutes on board with this.
Swedac wanted to help us push on, it didn't help.
10 years passed before we had a small trial in 2006, with 5 participants (the results are on our website) and plastic packaging.
We have finally got around to an international ring test; with so far 12 participants from 3 continents.
Stora Enso (cardboard), Hannells Industrier (steel) and Promens (plastic) have contributed with the packaging which these days is sent around to all participating participants.
Read more about the test itself under ring tests, which have been given their own tab on our website.
It's not too late to sign up for...
