On 2 September 2008, the Norwegian Maritime Directorate established regulations on the delegation of authority to Nordisk Emballasje Testing (NET) regarding the testing, approval and certification of packaging to be used in connection with the shipment of packaged dangerous goods on board Norwegian ships.

The delegation decision has been made on the basis of information provided by NET in the company's application dated 19 March 2007 and stipulates that the laboratory accreditation issued by SWEDAC on 11 October 2006 in accordance with ISO 17025 is maintained. Delegation takes effect from 26 June 2008 when the agreement on the Norwegian Maritime Directorate's delegation to NET was signed.
