A fresh start III

NET's third year is to be summarized:
New bank collapse! Get ready for the comeback! Don't believe in housing crash! Shopping slump! Low lighting for industry! Fearing more stock market bankruptcies! Luxury homes are going away again! The stock market continues to climb!
Well out there, this was a year where a lot revolved around finances, an uncertain one...
This was also part of the year for NET. In quick summary, the first quarter started very well, then came a slightly worse 2nd quarter which was followed by a worse 3rd quarter before ending with a very good final quarter.
There is so much more that we at NET want to look back on in 2009 than a good economy, but for us as for everyone else, it is the case that without a secure economy there is no secure future.
We were able to hold our first UN conference in Langesund with participants from 9 countries and four ports of entry. The feedback has only been positive. The turnout was not as large as expected, but this was largely due to the financial situation in the Nordics / Europe. Many companies had "travel refusal". Those of us who were lucky enough to participate made many interesting new acquaintances since we had plenty of time for each other. So we'll see if there will be a repeat this year? The plan was for the next conference in 2011, but due to the financial situation in the year that was, there have been requests for a new initiative in 2010. Next time we will also include the "fillers".
Then there was participation in the "Farligavfalls conference in Sandvika" and the "Packaging Days in Sandefjord".
"Scanpack 2009" was our biggest venture of the past year, and there were four people who were incredibly happy and relieved the Friday it ended. Perhaps especially Tom and Rune who were on stand every day, it was more tiring than we thought in advance, but not least also even more inspiring. A great way to get in touch with our customers.
The rest of the year was hard work, but also some exciting projects in Norway and Sweden. We have put the construction project on hold for the time being, as we have been lucky enough to be able to continue the lease with Ineos where we are today.
We look forward to 2010 full of enthusiasm. The first thing we have to roll up our shirt sleeves for is the next Ringtest!
I left in fjord with Obama and hope for peace in Gaza. Unfortunately, peace did not come to Gaza, but Obama came to Norway. There are still more people out there who unfortunately are unable to worry about the poor economic situation "World Wide".
Use every opportunity you get in 2010 to build up instead of tear down. Do something instead of not doing...
Happy New Year!
