A fresh start II

It is the second time we summarize the year that has passed seen through the glasses of NET.
Last time it was as a baby, and we looked at the year that has passed as the year of opportunity. The environment was all the world community was concerned with and what could be more important than that? The love?
In 2009 we face far more uncertainties both locally, nationally and internationally when it comes to what the year will bring than what is usual when we wish each other a happy new year.
NET's most important measurable factors for success are the number of certificates and turnover per FTE. Our most important driving force is satisfied customers, 2008 was a very good year for NET.
Our biggest step after learning to walk will be a new building to house the lab and office space. NET thought of taking that step in the coming year, but then the international financial crisis came upon us in the last months of 2008 and put our bank, business and employment in a situation that we hardly thought possible a few months ago. Crisis package, measures package, interest rate cuts and tax breaks have dominated the headlines in the media.
We'll see when the spade is set...
The traditional "short-range rockets" were symbolically banned for the first time at the beginning of the New Year. As usual, Norwegians followed this up almost without exception, and accidents were halved.
But elsewhere in the world rockets are still fired more frequently than ever, even in Oslo there are now late rockets at Christmas tree parties that were not delayed until New Year. May the conflict in the Middle East and others with them be resolved with the pen and not with war.
2008 was perhaps first and foremost the year in which the United States elected its first young tanned president;
"All things are possible..."
Imagine if 2009 would be the year when peace came to Gaza? What is the financial crisis then?
Happy New Year!
