Container for hazardous household waste

Container for hazardous household waste
from Knut Østbø

The waste bin, which was developed by Knut Østbø, is a light plastic container with a screw lid that has two central main functions:

* storage of paint residues, varnish residues and other solvents, etc.
* suspension in the lid for used paintbrushes.

Effect for private household:

All dangerous bags that are filled on the spill can will be stored in a safe place, this does not cause any pollution of air, in the room where the spill can is stored.
Used paint brushes (4 pcs) can be hung up in the lid, which is then lowered into the container. On
this way, the brooms will be able to hang in a white-spirit solution so that the brooms do not dry out, and can be used at a later time.

Container replacement:

When the container is full, or that the white-spirit solution is too impure, the container is taken to the environmental station, and you are given a new container in exchange for the old one (at no cost). The container can thus be transposed in a safe and efficient way to the environmental station, without too much spillage on clothes, cars and other things.

The spill can will be offered to households in the fair country. Emptying and replacement can become part of the cleaning fee. Several inter-municipal companies are already saying that they will implement the scheme in their areas.

The environmental company IRIS in Salten was the first to introduce this scheme, see link below.

The tests that form the basis of this container have been carried out at Nordisk Emballasje Testing and before long you can find the certificate on NET's pages.
