Accreditation across borders

TEST 259  Then Swedac had become history for NET. After just over 4 years of good acquaintance, it is because when EU Regulation 765/2008 (requirements for accreditation and market control) was implemented in the EU, the European accreditation bodies tightened up the agreement on accreditation across national borders.

The changes entail stricter monitoring of the requirement that there should be no competition between the European accreditation bodies. As a consequence of this, there is now a development in Europe that several accredited organizations change their accreditation body to the national onenal accreditation body to which the organization belongs.

One of the first examples of this is the accreditation to Nordisk Emballasje Testing. They have been accredited by SWEDAC since January 2007, but from April 2011 are accredited by NA with accreditation number TEST 259.
