IBC inspector training
IBC inspector training
We offer a two-day course providing formal authorisation to inspect and approve IBCs at both 30-month and 60-month inspections.
The tank owner is responsible for ensuring that periodic inspections are completed, that IBCs/tanks are approved and that this can be documented at future inspections.
Many participants will inspect what are commonly called containers, diesel tanks, ADR tanks or tanks for generators. The course covers these and all IBCs intended to transport liquids/solids, filled or discharged by pressure/gravity, regardless of material, including plastic, composite, fibre and metal, up to 3,000 litres.
The requirement for periodic IBC inspections is set out in the Norwegian regulations on land transport of dangerous goods, section 6.5.4.4.1. DSB guidance is available HERE.
The course combines practical teaching at our Test Center with theory.
We teach you what you need to test and inspect an IBC in accordance with ADR:
Classification, etc.
Design requirements, etc.
Type testing, inspections, etc.
The course ends with practical and theoretical examinations leading to an official IBC inspector certificate in credit-card format.
A list of inspectors with valid certificates is available here:
The course is taught in Norwegian.
Bring a positive attitude and your own ADR book if you have one. Books can also be purchased at the course; please let us know in advance.
